Interviewing Romance Best Seller Marissa Ann

Marissa Ann

USA Today Best Selling Author Marissa Ann grew up in two very different worlds, the big city and the rural South. Mobile Alabama offered her the opportunities to not only see other cultures but to experience them as well.
Every weekend she spent most of her time on the beach of Perdido with her dog, Buddy. It didn’t matter what time of the day, even midnight, they could be found walking along the shore in search of seashells.

Buddy passed away in 1997 and she still misses him today. You never forget your true best friends, even the four legged ones.

When she wasn’t in Alabama with her dad, she was in North Mississippi with her mom. Mostly spending time with her Grandfather who taught her not only how to grow a garden but how to completely live off the land as well as to love animals.

Today, she spends her time in rural North Mississippi with her husband, the kids and all of their animals on a hobby farm.

She always said she would write books one day even though many thought she never would. She made a promise to a childhood friend who left this world for the next in 2015. That she would finally write and publish at least one.

Her first book hit the market in 2018 and she’s never looked back. She now has several out with many more scheduled for release.

Her favorite books have a lot of romance with action and suspense mixed in. She loves to hear from others about her books OR theirs.

Interview with The Writer of your next favorite Romance

  1. What was the first story you ever wrote? (Unpublished or published)

The first story I ever wrote was about my dog named Buddy. I was around twelve years old at the time. I actually still have it put away in a picture album. I’ve never let anyone read it.

  1. Why did you want to become an author?

I actually didn’t give it a lot of thought. I just remember telling my childhood best friend that I would one day put myself out there and try. She passed away in 2015 and one of the things she made me promise her was that I would reach that goal. That’s exactly what I did in 2018.

  1. What is your favorite treat when you are writing?

Coffee. I LOVE my coffee. LOL.

  1. Do you have any writing rituals you do to get in the mood?

Not really. I just sit down, look at my blank screen a minute and wait for my fingers to move.

  1. Is there any type of scenes you shy away from writing about?

No but I do get shy if you ask me about a scene I’ve written.

  1. What is a genre you don’t currently write but would like to try?

Cowboy/Western Romance

  1. Why do you write in the genre you currently write in?

Because I LOVE it. I love reading it as well.

  1. What is the most difficult hurdle you’ve had to get over while writing so far?

Procrastination. When you “work” from home, it’s hard to set specific working hours.

  1. What is your dream for your book? (Ie: movie, in big box stores, etc)

Getting one made into a movie would be amazing!

  1. Who would you have play your main characters if you could pick anyone in the world (dead or alive)?

A younger Patrick Swayze would be who I would want as Timber in my Wolfsbane Ridge MC series.

  1. What is your favorite coffee/or tea?

Coffee with chocolate creamer and french vanilla mixed in.

  1. What would you put in a cocktail that represents your latest release?

Jack Daniels

  1. A fire alarm goes off in your home. What are the first 5 things you grab?

Purse, kids, dogs and my Parrots.

  1.  Do you use a spoon or fork to eat macaroni and cheese?

Spoon!

  1. What are you currently binge watching/or listening to?

Hell’s Kitchen

  1. What do you think is the perfect girls night out?

Staying in with a glass of wine and no kids anywhere. I know, I’m a little boring. LOL

  1. When you were little what was your favorite toy that you took everywhere?

When I was a little more than a year old it was a tiny baby doll. I actually still have her in a glass case.

  1. What is something your readers don’t know about you?

Twenty two years ago, I worked as a stripper for a short period of time. (It was FUN. Young me wasn’t that boring. LOL)

  1. Who is your favorite all time author? Do you own any of their books?

Jane Austen was and still is my all time favorite. Yes, I have copies of her books.

  1. If you could interview anyone in the world who would you choose? And Why?

Reba. Because who doesn’t love Reba?
