USA Today and internationally bestselling author Jennifer M. Miller

USA Today and internationally bestselling author Jennifer M. Miller writes sports romance as well as paranormal romance for Creative Words Press. When she’s not writing, Jennifer travels across the United States with her family in an RV. At each destination, she draws inspiration for her next story.

Whether it's worlds with magic and werewolves or a budding flame between the star wide receiver and his coach’s daughter, she always adds a healthy dose of steam and humor. If you like Jennifer’s angsty characters and witty dialogue, she recommends you also check out Lucy Score and Emelia Rose. They're kind of her idols. AUTHOR INTERVIEW!!!!!

1. What was the first story you ever wrote? (Unpublished or published)

I started with travel nonfiction and fell in love with storytelling. My first story was Away From His Shadow books2read.com/awayfromhisshadow

2. Why did you want to become an author?

To share my experiences with other people. All of my books are inspired by travel.

3. What is your favorite treat when you are writing?

Chocolate! Recently, I’ve found my guilty pleasure in Girl Scout cookies. Really, any form of chocolate is my go-to.

4. Do you have any writing rituals you do to get in the mood?

Not really. I plan a lot before I ever start typing the story out. I like to listen to music as I go.

5. Is there any type of scenes you shy away from writing about?

I don’t like writing books with major assault and abuse. When I read, I skip over those scenes too.

6. What is a genre you don’t currently write but would like to try?

I’ve actually just stepped into PNR. Before 2022, I had only written contemporary with a healthy dose of sports romance. Diving into some paranormal romance (think Twilight) was much harder than I thought it would be.

7. Why do you write in the genre you currently write in?

It’s what I love to read.

8. What is the most difficult hurdle you’ve had to get over while writing so far?

Being an author isn’t all about putting the words in the page. Most days I have to be a graphic designer, market analyst, and a social media influencer. I’m none of those, so keeping my time balanced is very tricky. I’m also a stay at home, and my kiddos are homeschooled. I wear a lot of hats. Sometimes that’s a hurdle in and of itself.

9. What is your dream for your book? (Ie: movie, in big box stores, etc) I want to walk through a random bookstore with my two kiddos and see my book on the shelf.

10. Who would you have play your main characters if you could pick anyone in the world (dead or alive)?

From first down, Meghan would be played by Josephine Langford.

Chase would have to be Jacob Elordi.

Rosie would be best played by Jeanine Mason.

11. What is your favorite coffee/or tea?

An iced caramel macchiato.

12. What would you put in a cocktail that represents your latest release?

My latest release was First Down. It’s about a spunky girl that changes herself to avoid the past. It’s a tale of second chances, facing your problems, and finding comfort in strong friendships. The cocktail of choice would have to have some bitters yet something sweet.

13. A fire alarm goes off in your home. What are the first 5 things you grab?

So, freshman year of highschool this actually happened to my family. It was the night of my birthday; my parents had given me an electric scooter to celebrate. The scooter was charging overnight and caught fire in the garage. I woke up to my entire house filled with smoke. The only thing I wanted to grab was my brother and sister. I searched all over their rooms before I made it outside, which is where we were all reunited. It wasn’t until I was outside did I think of grabbing a pair of pant or my wallet.

14. Do you use a spoon or fork to eat macaroni and cheese?

Fork

15. What are you currently binge watching/or listening to?

Vikings and all things Yellowstone

16. What do you think is the perfect girls night out?

The Thunder Down Under show in Las Vegas!!! If you know, you know

17. When you were little what was your favorite toy that you took everywhere?

A purple stuffed animal I named Pluto.

18. What is something your readers don’t know about you?

For most of the year, my family and I live in an RV and travel across the continental U.S.

19. Who is your favorite all time author? Do you own any of their books?

This is such a tough question. Meagan Brandy is my role model!! I love Emelia Rose—she’s the definition of what PNR should be. I definitely own their e-books. I read much faster on my phone or iPad.

20. If you could interview anyone in the world who would you choose? And Why?

Does Jason Mamoa count? Do we really have to talk???
